Privacy
Last updated October 8, 2026. This page describes what the site actually does today.
This site publishes household guidance and links to merchants. We don’t sell anything, take payments or ship products; merchants handle orders, returns and warranties.
Data needed to run the site (always)
Like any website, loading a page sends standard request data (IP address, browser type, requested address, time) to our hosting provider so the page can be delivered. Pages also request the product list from our backend. To limit abuse of our event and contact forms, the server keeps a short-lived counter keyed by a hashed connection identifier made from your IP address and the current day. This hash uses no secret key, so it is pseudonymous rather than anonymous; counters are deleted after two days and are used only for rate limiting.
Measurement (only if you allow it)
If you choose “Allow”, your browser sends measurement events to our server: a product page view, a comparison view, that an assessment was completed, and outbound clicks. Each event holds the event type, time, product id, page path without its query string, where on the page a link was clicked, link type and destination website name. It holds no name, email, assessment answers or text you type. The server, not your browser, decides whether an event is test or real traffic. If you choose “Don’t allow” or don’t choose, no measurement events are sent (the request data above still applies). Your choice is stored in your browser.
Assessment answers
The household time assessment runs entirely in your browser. Answers are never sent to us or added to the page address, and they disappear when you leave the page.
Contact messages
If you send a message, our server stores your email, optional name, topic and message so an administrator can read and reply. We don’t add you to any mailing list. We have no newsletter.
Staff accounts
Only site staff have accounts. Sign-in stores the account email and login records in the backend’s authentication service. Visitors don’t need an account.
Where data is processed
- Lovable — website hosting.
- Lovable Cloud — backend database and staff sign-in (operated on Supabase infrastructure).
- Google Fonts — font files are loaded from Google, which receives standard request data.
- Merchants (for example Navimow) — only after you follow a link to their site, under their own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Measurement events: deleted automatically after about 13 months.
- Contact messages: kept until handled; closed messages are deleted after 12 months, and an administrator can delete any message sooner.
- Abuse-prevention counters: deleted after 2 days.
- Hosting provider request logs: kept under the provider’s own terms.
Your requests
To ask for a copy or deletion of a contact message you sent, use the contact form from the same email address. Measurement events contain no identifier that links them to you, so they can’t be looked up per person.
Affiliate links
Some Amazon links are labelled Amazon Associates affiliate links. When you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies under its own privacy notice; we receive no personal information about your purchase. Unlabelled links are ordinary merchant links.
