It handles the routine of serving dry food at set times. You still refill the hopper, wash the bowl and check every day that your pet is actually eating and well.

Remote changes and alerts depend on the app, your Wi-Fi and PETLIBRO's service, which has had outages (one on Aug 11–12 was resolved). On backup batteries, stored schedules keep running but Wi-Fi is off, so you can't adjust or check it remotely.

It's for dry kibble only and isn't a substitute for someone checking on a pet during longer absences.
